A Piece of Cloud

By idalia

I hate that.

I don’t want to dance in the rain

I don’t want to wait for the rainbow

That’s a lie, I know.

The storm never knew how hurt the cloud was.

They pierced through them,

violating and hurting

ignoring and scolding

How dare they say I’ll bring you joy

at the end you’ll praise my beauty

and say oh, how great and mighty

when really, it’s a cycled cruelty

You’re the storm you can’t deny

and the piercing rain as sharp as knives

They danced because they’re numb

I’ve never been so dumb.
