If You Want To Know About Me

If you want to know about me,

there was a garden inside my chest once,

wild with spring,

heavy with sunlit roses,

then life arrived like a quiet fire.

Now even my laughter sounds like ruins,

trying to remember what home felt like.

I speak softly these days,

as if grief is sleeping beneath my tongue,

and one wrong word might wake it.

If you want to know about me,

the stars still bloom above me,

but I no longer ask them for miracles.

I only ask for another tomorrows,

for hearts that stay,

for the ache inside me to loosen its grip,

just enough,

so I can breathe without trembling.

And if you listen closely,

to the silence I wear,

you will hear it speak,

in the language of almosts,

almost healed,

almost whole,

almost light enough to forget,

And if you lean into the quiet I carry,

you will not find emptiness but echoes,

soft as fading hymn-light,

where every broken part of me

still learns how to sing.
