Longing for home,
My heart yearns for that warm nest.
In the comfort of my mother,
Wrapped in love like a warm cover.
The anchor of my father,
His steadfast love, a constant wonder.
Siblings quarreling and at odds,
But love remains in all our nods.
The warmth of a home-cooked meal,
Where all our worries conceal.
Treats shared one moment at meals,
The next, a bite stolen with my sister's squeal.
Soft giggles hidden from our parents' gaze,
Chasing each other in a playful maze—
Savoring Mom’s baked goods with much delight,
As we wait for Dad to come home for the night.
Longing for the taste of home,
My heart cries for that warm nest.
