Love Journey

By Ameer Ahmad

I love you for a thousand miles and more

I had to walk, and it was no chore,

I love you to the moon and back,

I would never mind crossing the vast black,

It’s almost as if venturing across a sea of fire.

Indulging in the love of you, my desire,

Oh, how painful, dreadful, woeful

How lamentable

For you not being at the other side of the table,

In case you do not know yet,

I miss you so much and I fret.

Where are you, the one that I miss,

Criss-crossed stars and seas

I would rather kiss than hiss.

Oh, dear, I am going to places.

I wonder when I will reach your place.

To finally be in your embrace

Sadly, our path did not cross,

And I hope it is not my biggest loss.
