To You, Whom I Have Lost

By Izzah Husna

The remembrance of the past Exists in the form of stars. The light we see, the twinkle they emit Only reaches us after they are gone. They are history in the form of memories, Stories that are desperately needed to be told, Lullabies for the troubling minds. And so I ascended the prayers above For those I have apologies yet to be delivered, Eulogies that have yet to be recited. I will look for stars when I miss you, Knowing it contains our memoirs.

Perhaps one day we’ll meet again, Wherever you reside. For now, rest in serenity, rest in peace, rest in love.
