Aminah Ladies' Market: A Haven for Fashion Finds and Thrift Treasures

GOMBAK, 18th May 2024: As part of the Women’s Month Launch, Mahallah Aminah organised an array of exciting programmes, one of the highlights being the Aminah Ladies' Market: Garage Sale Galore (Aminah La’ Garage), popularly known as the Aminah Ladies' Market.


The event took place last Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM at Multipurpose Hall (MPH) Mahallah Aminah. It featured a wide variety of booths offering unique accessories, thrift items, and a variety of foods and beverages, drawing large crowds of enthusiastic shoppers. 


The lively and vibrant atmosphere spoke to the success of the event, as guests enjoyed the diverse selection and lively interactions. Organised by the Mahallah Aminah Representative Committees (MRC) 23/24, this event provided a fantastic shopping experience and highlighted the spirit of community and celebration associated with Women’s Month.

“Aminah Ladies' Market, is an initiative to create a platform for students to market products. Students will have various possibilities to improve their entrepreneurial and networking capabilities by installing a booth and expanding their business and connections with buyers,” said sr. Uyainah Solehah, the programme coordinator for this event.

Regarding the preparation of the event, sr. Uyainah said the preparation period is almost three months before the event. It gave them ample time to find 33 interested sellers and do rigorous promotions.

Among the many booths at the event were those belonging to Sagorubies, Sassy Sissy, The Benl Chronicles (TBC), Inspire Club, and many more. Every booth contributed to the lively and varied marketplace ambience by providing a distinctive range of goods and attractions. Shoppers had the opportunity to explore a wide range of offerings, from handcrafted accessories to vintage thrift items, making the event a rich and engaging experience for all attendees.

The programme coordinator, sr. Uyainah expressed her feelings in her last comment, “I received a lot of positive feedback from many students and the Mahallah Officer of Aminah, and comments for improvement. I accept all feedback wholeheartedly.”


She added, “In short, a remarkable event was achieved! Each of my sweat[s] and contributions paid off. Congratulations and big applause to the committee [of] Aminah La Garage.”***
