The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, conveyed a profound truth, "When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." Among these everlasting deeds, the radiance of beneficial knowledge stands as a beacon, and at its heart lies the pivotal role of a teacher.

In this divine proclamation, Allah SWT elevates the role of a teacher who imparts wisdom and knowledge, placing them above every other profession. A teacher, in this context, becomes more than a mere facilitator of information. They transform into guardians of a sacred trust, stewards of wisdom, and architects of a legacy that extends far beyond the temporal confines of a classroom.

In the rich tapestry of my life, there exists a thread of profound influence woven by the hands of an exceptional teacher—Dr. Shafizal Bin Maarof. His teachings transcended the confines of a traditional classroom, becoming a source not only of knowledge but also of invaluable virtues. Dr. Shafizal instilled in me a singular lesson—to be brave—a simple yet profound teaching that became a catalyst for transformative change, redirecting the course of my life for the better.

Dr. Shafizal's demeanor, characterized by calmness and composure, spoke volumes about the depth of his character. His calm and composed demeanor created a conducive learning environment, fostering a sense of security and trust among his students.

Beyond being an exemplary teacher, Dr. Shafizal embodied the essence of a good human being, always ready to extend a helping hand and go the extra mile to assist others. Whether it was providing academic support, offering words of encouragement, or simply being a compassionate listener, he exemplified the qualities of a true mentor. His commitment to the well-being of his students went beyond the confines of a classroom, creating a lasting impact that transcends time.

What set Dr. Shafizal apart was not only his ability to impart knowledge, but also the purity of his heart. In a world where individuals can change like water, taking the shape into where the water is poured, Dr. Shafizal stood as an exception. His heart remained pure, driven by a genuine desire to see others flourish. He believed in the inherent goodness of people and dedicated himself to easing the journey of those around him.

Beyond the classroom, I observed that Dr. Shafizal, is a person of unwavering values and unyielding integrity. His moral compass remained steadfast, guiding him through a principled life that left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. His actions spoke louder than words, embodying the principles he espoused. He became a living testament to the profound impact that a person of high values and integrity can have on the lives they touch.

The passing of Dr. Shafizal on May 22, 2019, marked a somber day, for we lost a teacher whose irreplaceable presence had touched the lives of many. I extend my heartfelt apologies for any mistakes made during my time under his guidance, and I am hopeful that, in the realm where we all meet Allah SWT, we may reunite.

In reflecting on the legacy of Dr. Shafizal, it is evident that his teachings were not confined to the walls of an educational institution; they echoed in the values he instilled in each student. His commitment to goodness served as a guiding light, illuminating the paths of those fortunate enough to be under his guidance.

As we remember Dr. Shafizal, we honor not only his role as an educator, but his profound impact as a compassionate human being. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, and his teachings continue to inspire a commitment to goodness, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of knowledge. May his soul rest in peace, and may his example serve as a beacon for generations to come.

In remembrance of Dr. Shafizal
