We've scoured the world of webcomics to find you a collection to suit every mood and taste - from bittersweet romances that will make your heart swell to adrenaline-fuelled adventures that won't get you out of your deckchair. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the enchanting world of webtoons!

  1. "Omniscient Reader" by singNsong & Sleepy-C

"Omniscient Reader" is a manhwa that kept me busy during my semester break. The protagonist “Kim Dokja”, who has just read a web novel titled “Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse”, finds himself in a dilemma when his reality is suddenly replaced by the reality of the web novel he has been reading.

As clichéd as the plot starts, the story builds up in an interesting way and keeps you on your toes. I can say that the pace was deliberate and systematic, allowing the reader to fully appreciate the complex nuances of the setting.

The outstanding element in this story is the growth and development of the characters. In the course of the story, the once-typical office worker “Kim Dokja” undergoes a remarkable transformation in his powers. The character development intensifies the emotional parts of the story and plays a key role in deciding how the story will end.

And of course, the artwork. It’s worth mentioning that I love the way each character stands out in their own colours and styles, their facial expressions are top-notch and reflect the mood and tension of the story.

Overall, “The Omniscient Reader” is a fascinating story that weaves together complex characters, intricate plot lines and a touch of mystery to create a story you can't put down.

2. "Eleceed" by Jeho Son & ZHENA

Let me tell you, "Eleceed" is an absolutely fun read! A strangely perfect blend of action, supernatural elements, and humour is what makes this story stand out and captivate readers' attention. Following the life of a high school student named Jiwoo who is an “awakened”. He possesses a unique ability and supernatural powers which makes him able to communicate with a strange yet powerful cat called Kayden.

The dynamic between Jiwoo and Kayden developed a balanced combination of action and humour which creates fascinating worlds for readers to explore. The protagonist, Jiwoo undergoes a significant transformation in the course of the story. He goes from being a shy and timid high school student to a confident and inspiring “awakened one" who influences other “awakened ones" throughout the plot. His newly discovered abilities are crucial for overcoming the central conflict of the story.

The most touching thing about this story is the friendship between the characters. In the beginning, Jiwoo and his friends are cautious, but gradually they develop a close and inseparable friendship that gives depth to the characters' relationships.

As for the artwork, "Eleceed" is extremely impressive with its intricate character designs, expressive facial expressions and exciting action scenes". The characterisation of the cats' personalities and feelings is particularly well done.

All in all, Eleceed is a story that is simply captivating with its well-developed characters and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end.

You'll be left wondering at every step as you try to unravel the mystery of her hidden secret.

As you delve deeper into Emma's world, you'll also meet Elios, her seemingly perfect boyfriend. He's charming, he's thoughtful, and he's everything Emma could want in a companion - or is he? There's an enigmatic aura surrounding him, and small hints and clues begin to appear, implying that there's more to him than meets the eye. Every episode will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the tension is addictive. The best part is? You'll feel like you're right there with the characters, going through their emotions, fears, and secrets.

But fair warning: the storyline gets twisty, and the number of surprises may cause your mind to spin. There are also some characters whose actions might cause you to pause.

Rose Choi, is a fascinating young woman in her mid-20s and she is the epitome of independence and ambition. She has put a lot of effort into building a career in a field that is dominated by men, and her determination is both inspiring and relatable. The intriguing part comes when Rose meets Daniel Yoon, a successful CEO who is much younger than her. This is when Rose's world is turned upside down.

This webtoon is more than just a love story; it's also a story about defying social norms and breaking stereotypes. Rose and Daniel's dynamic is a rollercoaster of emotions, and their interactions are a mixture of hilarious, heartwarming, and sometimes even tear-jerking. Ultimately, the only way to know if this recommendation is a book you'll enjoy reading is to actually do it. To determine whether the story and characters will hold your interest, start with the first few chapters or episodes.
