Summary of the News
KUALA LUMPUR, 31 AUGUST — HONOR joined Malaysia’s Merdeka Day parade for the first time, celebrating before a massive crowd of around 100,000 people. The biggest surprise of the day was definitely HONOR’s humanoid robot marching right along the parade route. What made this even cooler was that just the day before, the robot took part in the Malaysia Marathon 2026. This back-to-back appearance was actually the robot's very first trip outside China, showing just how much the company values the Malaysian market.
Thanks to its performance over the weekend, the robot picked up two official titles from Asia Records and ASEAN Records. It became the first humanoid robot ever to complete a 10-kilometer public road race and take part in a national day parade. For many in the crowd, seeing this kind of cutting-edge technology live alongside everyday participants was one of the best moments of the event.
The robot also had another trick up its sleeve: it was carrying an unannounced smartphone in a striking purple color. HONOR later confirmed that it was the upcoming HONOR X9e Pro. The HONOR X series is already very popular in Malaysia because of its durability and strong battery life, with many local fans calling it the "national phone." HONOR stated that it plans to bring even more new technology to Malaysian consumers in the near future.
