One location where one can seek knowledge is the school. Nothing is more significant in this world than the pursuit of knowledge. It is impossible to acquire knowledge without searching for it with all of your might. Given its strong influence, the school also has a significant role in shaping or developing an individual's behaviour and personality. In addition, going to school can help someone create wonderful memories with their teachers and classmates and have a wonderful time while gaining knowledge.
Without our knowledge, a person may have a bad experience at school. Bullying is one of the main causes of the bad experience. Bullying, along with ragging, has permeated every school in Malaysia. It is claimed that seniors in particular have created a culture of bullying junior pupils. The statistics showed that there are more and more bullying cases — 5,000 cases have been registered. In a way, it's really concerning.
Bullying may have been a culture at the school brought on by loose regulations. Students don't hesitate to commit these kinds of transgressions as a result. They are not repentant even though they have been punished, as the penalty is not severe enough. Because they find bullying intriguing, the students will continue to engage in it and will likely continue to do so on an increasing basis.
The victims of bullying are always the ones who bear the consequences because they are the ones who suffer both physically and psychologically. The effects include reduced confidence, low self-esteem, as well as fear of going to school. They will refuse to attend school and have a poor level of education as a result.
Therefore, the bully should receive a severe penalty from the school administration as a serious measure. Additionally, teachers in charge of enforcing school discipline should designate more school prefects and uphold the prefects’ authority. If the long-standing problem in schools is resolved, the quality of education in our nation may be enhanced with this implementation.
