SUNGAI BULOH, 23 August 2023: A total of six furniture factories were engulfed in a fire outbreak in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh on Sunday, 20 August 2023.

Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail, the director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, stated the department received an emergency call at 4:48 p.m. and firefighters arrived at the location 12 minutes later.

Fortunately, it was reported that there were no casualties at the scene, and the fire was finally extinguished at 6:05 a.m. on Monday, 21 August 2023.

The fire caused a thick black smoke visible in nearby areas and went viral on social media.

Some social media users claimed they could see the smoke from Denai Alam and even Bukit Jelutong. Many videos and images related to the tragedy were shared online.

According to Bernama, the personnel involved in the fire operation were from the Sungai Buloh, Selayang, and Damansara fire stations.

Many people who lived nearby expressed their concerns over the accidents happening around them. The fire broke out precisely three days after the tragic Elmina aircraft crash, which happened to be in a nearby area as well.***
