Photography has been synonymous with our lives since times we didn’t realise when. The history of photography began around the year 1717 by Johann Heinrich Schulze. It started with the use of a light-sensitive slurry to capture images of cut-out letters on a bottle.

Moreover, the first image successfully captured was in 1826 by a French physicist, Joseph Nicephore Niepce. It is a photo of a view from the window of Niepce’s estate in Burgundy. Meanwhile, the world's first coloured photo was produced in 1861 by a Scottish physicist, James Clerk Maxwell. The photograph showed coloured ribbon, usually described as tartan ribbon.

Photography has taken a big part in a human’s life. It is an important tool for preserving memories and telling stories. By having photography, we can look through old albums of our childhood photos taken by our parents. Important events can also be remembered by capturing the moments of that day.

Not only that, photography also opens new job opportunities, such as photographers. There are many types of photographers nowadays; some of them are photojournalists, crime scene photographers, and camera operators. Photography later made it possible for humans to watch films with the invention of cameras.

Therefore, let's celebrate photography day by sharing the best photo you’ve got. It can be through any platform of social media, such as Instagram, X, and Facebook. Considering all this, let's capture the moment in life to keep the beautiful memories in it.
