.
Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a Saratoga Springs home after receiving a report that a 21-year-old woman had been found dead from a gunshot wound to the head, in accordance to a police booking affidavit, which is a document summarizing the evidence and reasons for arresting a suspect. The victim's identity has not yet been disclosed. Garfield and her father were also present in the house at that time.
According to the affidavit, "Detectives learned that the deceased 21-year-old female allegedly had a suicide pact with Heavenly Faith Garfield and had been planning on killing themselves together for multiple weeks,". Garfield's father called 911, stating that the victim was shot around 10:45 a.m on a Tuesday.
Police later reached out to a friend of the deceased, who provided text messages from the victim. The messages stated that she planned to commit suicide but was too afraid to do it herself. The friend told detectives that the victim had also mentioned intending to commit suicide with her friend, identified as Heavenly Faith, and that one of them would kill the other before taking their own life, states the affidavit.—TBC
