GOMBAK, 23 December: Abu Hurairah Club of IIUM (AHC IIUM) has recently hosted the “National Cat Show and Exhibition” at Wadi Budi.
AHC IIUM’s “National Cat Show and Exhibition” (NCSE) was held at Wadi Budi on the 16th and 17th of December 2023, from 9:30 AM until 5 PM on both days. The IIUM community and the general public were welcome to join the event.
The main highlight of this event was the National Cat Competition, which was open to both domestic and pedigreed cat breeds. Other than that, the Cat Fancy Dress Competition and the Cat Adoption Programme too had attracted many visitors from inside and outside of the IIUM campus.
The Launching Ceremony of AHC IIUM’s NCSE also invited several guests, namely Prof Dr Akmal Khuzairy bin Abd Rahman (Deputy Rector of Student Development and Community Engagement) and Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Di-Raja Haji Adnan bin Haji Yaakob (Chairman of YP Plantation Holdings Sdn Bhd), whom respectively delivered the opening and officiating speeches on the first day of the event.
Outside vendors, including an SPCA booth alongside several food vendor booths and the “Wags to Riches” AHC Cat Charity Sale Booth were available to attend to the visitors and promote their own cat-related products.
AHC IIUM’s NCSE was a successful collaboration between AHC IIUM and the Office of the Deputy Rector (SDCE), IIUM Alumni, Division of Veterinary Services and Kelab Kucing Malaysia (KKM).
