Gombak, 7th December 2023: The English Literature: Beowulf to Johnson class has collaborated with the Secretariats of English Language and Literature (ELITS) in transporting notable literary works to life in FIESTALITS 2023 at the Human Sciences (HS) Square, on 7 December 2023.

Under the supervision of the class lecturer, Dr Homam Altabaa, this exhibition acted as a medium for the audience to dive deep into the beauty of literature across centuries that aided in shaping society today.

The exhibition displayed a number of prominent literary figures and their works across centuries beginning from Middle English up to 1500, until Romanticism which began towards the end of the 18th century.

During the interview with The BENL Chronicle, on the main reason the exhibition was being conducted, Sr Afifah explained that this exhibition is part of the course assessment and they will be evaluated based on their presentation.

“The exhibition consists of five groups with each group handling different eras,” she clarified. The eras are The Middle English up to 1500, the 17th century (The Puritan & Neoclassical age), The English Renaissance period (1500 to 1603), The Neoclassical period, and lastly, Romanticism.

In addition, one of the students, Nor Alia binti Fadil said, “This exhibition is an attractive way to make other non-English major students gain some inputs into what we have been learning and how these works contribute to the modern world.”

Besides the eye-catching posters, the exhibition also featured games for the audience to come by and play such as word puzzles, uno cards, and more.

“We hope this exhibition is able to unlock many benefits for the audience to know the basic literary knowledge and continue in the next semester,” Sr Alia concluded at the end of the interview.***
