Gombak, 6th April 2024: As the sacred month of Ramadan nears its end, the IIUM Poetry Club, in collaboration with PERKIM and MALLIC, has unveiled an exciting opportunity for poets to showcase their talents and spread messages of unity and togetherness through the art of poetry.
The "Voice of the Verses" Poetry Competition calls upon poets from all walks of life to participate in crafting original pieces that encapsulate the essence of Ramadan, Eid, and unity. With the theme of unity as the guiding principle, participants are encouraged to explore the spiritual significance of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid, while also emphasizing the importance of solidarity within communities.
Poets are required to adhere to specific guidelines for submission, including following the IIUM Poetry Club’s social media channels, selecting either English or Malay as the language of their poems, and ensuring that their work remains authentic and free from plagiarism. Submissions will be accepted from the 5th to the 23rd of April, allowing ample time for poets to immerse themselves in the themes and craft their masterpieces.
The competition promises not only a platform for creative expression but also enticing prizes for those whose poems resonate most deeply with the theme and captivate the judging panel.
