GOMBAK, 15th November 2024: As part of EDUFEST 2024, Bazaar Che’gu made its comeback at Kulliyyah of Education’s (KOED) EDU Foyer from November 11th until the 13th, 2024. With a variety of food, drinks, and goods on offer, the event attracted not only students, but all of the IIUM community to immerse themselves in a lively marketplace atmosphere within the festival.

The EDU Foyer was filled with vendors selling apparel, hijabs, figurines, food, and beverages, while a photo booth added a fun touch for visitors.

The highlight of this year’s festival was the petting zoo, a new addition that drew attention from visitors. Unlike previous Bazaar Che’gu events, which didn’t include animal exhibits, this year’s petting zoo featured 15 different kinds of animals, surprising and delighting visitors and quickly becoming one of the main attractions.

The event also offered special segments each day. On the first day, visitors enjoyed various performances, including singing, acting, poetry recitation, and a piano performance. Day two featured an engaging science experiment where visitors had the chance to make their slime, and a pop quiz was held with prizes for the top three winners.

The final day showcased a creative exhibition featuring photography, posters from the Poster Design Competition (another program under EDUFEST), and artwork by students from the Kulliyyah of Education, rounding out a diverse and interactive experience for all.

“To wrap up, I can proudly say that, Alhamdulillah[,] the event is running very smoothly, even exceeding my expectations,” said Nur Dini Hannani, the programme manager of Bazaar Che’gu.

She added, “I hope the event was also enjoyable [for] the attendees and the vendors. Insya Allah, we will also be having Bazaar Che'gu in EDUFEST again next year, so please anticipate it a lot.”—TBC
