GOMBAK, 8th June 2024: ‘The Duel at Dawn: Badminton League’ was a mini-badminton tournament that was held on 8th June by the Secretariat of English Language and Literature, also known as ELITS, and the bureau of Sport, Arts, and Culture (SPAC), one of ELITS’s bureaus, is in charge of this programme.
This exciting programme gave students a much-needed break from academic work and enabled them to compete in friendly competitions and showcase their athletic skills. This mini-tournament was a memorable and enjoyable experience for all students involved since it not only offered the ideal balance of recreation and sports but also emphasised the significance of maintaining a balance between academics and extracurricular activities.
The programme began with warm and enthusiastic welcoming remarks from the emcee, sr. Nur Lydia Nazurah. Following her opening remarks, the programme manager, br. Muhammad Harith, took the stage to deliver his speech. Br. Harith thanked everyone who took part in the mini-tournament and all the committees that helped make this programme possible.
A total of fourteen teams showed up to battle for the gold medal in the ‘Duel at Dawn: Badminton League’ mini-tournament. Eight male pairs teams and six female pairs teams participated in the competition, in which each team played with a lot of enthusiasm and determination.

Each match featured fierce rallies and amazing performances of skills as the players showed their dedication and passion for the game. Their teamwork and good sportsmanship brought out the tournament’s friendly yet competitive atmosphere and made it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

The winners of the mini-badminton tournament were announced during a prize-giving event that took place after all matches had ended. The first place was won by br. Akhyar and br. Maiman for the male category, while the female category was dominated by sr. Izza and sr. Nadia. The ceremony celebrated their impressive performances and marked the successful conclusion of the 'Duel at Dawn: Badminton League'.

Br. Harith, the event's programme manager, gave his concluding remarks about this mini-badminton tournament. He stated, “I do think that there is a need to be flexible if you are in charge of the programme because there are things that somehow have been overlooked, so just prepare your mind and be flexible.”
He added, “Last but not least, my motto “sacrifice needed” helped me successfully conduct this event with my team.”***
