SHAH ALAM, 3rd March 2024: Shock rippled through the community of Setia Alam as details emerged regarding the tragic death of a 32-year-old Thai woman, who was allegedly pushed off the 23rd floor of a condominium by her 37-year-old boyfriend, a lorry driver, on February 28th.
Shah Alam District Police responded to the distressing incident that occurred at 10:02 pm, following reports from eyewitnesses and viral videos depicting a heated argument between the couple, escalating to the woman being forcefully pushed off the balcony. Neighbours recounted hearing her desperate cries before the fatal fall.
The suspect, apprehended at the scene, has a significant criminal history, with seven prior offences and one drug-related offence.
“The suspect tested positive for cannabis”, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohd Iqbal.
Magistrate Farah Rosnan granted a remand order from February 29th to March 6th to facilitate investigations into the murder case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
This may result in the suspect being sentenced to death, imprisonment for over 30 years but less than 40 years, or receiving 12 strokes of the cane if convicted.
The police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the murder, gathering evidence from the crime scene and interviewing witnesses, while urging individuals with information to step forward and aid in the ongoing inquiry.
