GOMBAK, 7 July 2023: Hamzah Square was packed with the IIUM community joining in the fun of “Healthy Lifestyle Greater Gombak,” a program organised by IIUM’s Sports Development Centre (SDC) in conjunction with IIUM Community Day.
This program aims to create a healthy lifestyle among the IIUM community. IIUM Community Day was endorsed by the University Management Committee (UMC) Meeting to be held on the first Friday of every month.
According to Norsharmila Zabani, one of SDC’s Sports Officers and the program manager, there were about 80 participants who joined “Healthy Lifestyle Greater Gombak.”
The activities conducted in this program were mass aerobic, which was instructed by Br. Muhammad Fazwan Ahmad Fauzi, and the 4.0 km Fun Campus Walk.
The route covered for the Fun Campus Walk was from the starting point at IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) – Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) – Female Sports Complex (FSC) and back to ICC.
Various activities were conducted at checkpoints around IIUM, such as a one-leg balance challenge at the first checkpoint at the KICT parking area and a stair run challenge at the second checkpoint at Mahallah Summayah’s staircase.
After completing the fun campus walk, all the participants gathered at ICC for the prize-giving event. The program successfully ended with a photography session with all the participants.***
