GOMBAK, October 17, 2023: In response to the continuous attack and murder of the Palestinians' innocent lives recently, the IIUM Student Union launched a program known as IIUM Solidarity March in a collaborative effort with Aman Palestine, IIUM Da'wah Council, and other groups.

Such a program is to express the IIUM community's solidarity with the Palestinian cause and voice out their feelings and thoughts to our brothers and sisters who are facing humanitarian issues from the attack by the Zionists from Israel.

The program starts right after the Jumaat or Friday prayer around 2 p.m. on October 13, 2023. After finishing performing the Jumaat prayer, all of the supporters gathered in front of the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SHAS) Mosque while hearing the remarks made by the NGOs and authoritative figures, as well as a lecturer and students from Palestine.

Hundreds of participants can be seen marching towards the IIUM Riverside.

Afterward, all participants started marching while chanting for freedom for Palestine, starting from the front foyer of SHAS Mosque to the riverside near Richiamo and IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) building.

Speeches are made by various individuals on the riverside.

IIUM was filled with hundreds or thousands of voices in support of the Palestinian brothers and sisters. As the program reached the end, the organisers reminded everyone always to put the thoughts of the Palestinians in their prayers and use the power of social media to educate others about the reality of what actually happened to the world.

The participants were also reminded that the marching was not just to voice out their feelings regarding the situation in Palestine but also to educate and raise awareness about it, as all Muslims share the responsibility to help one another in this trying time.***
