ROMANIA, 9 September 2023: 36-year-old Anglo-American former professional kickboxer Emory Andrew Tate III, better known as Andrew Tate, is a man of many talents and various labels: Internet celebrity, influencer, businessman, and entrepreneur. However, upon being charged with human trafficking and rape charges last June, newly discovered evidence sheds light on his newly appointed label and recognised talent: groomer.
Andrew Tate gained his fame online as a “hyper-masculine” influencer and Internet celebrity in 2022 on the video-making social media platform Tiktok. Albeit his sexist and misogynistic content had gotten him suspended and banned from many social media platforms, his almost cult-like fanbase, which mainly consisted of male teenagers, had successfully increased his influence and popularity on the Internet by sharing his videos of violent sexism and toxic masculinity everywhere.
The BBC documentary Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed the World? by Matt Shea and Jamie Tahsin’s film The Dangerous Rise of Andrew Tate unveils the horrifying truth behind Tate’s War Room, his online school that offers money-making courses. Tate’s Hustler University was merely a cover for the true source of Tate’s wealth: the sexual exploitation of women.
Leaked Telegram chat logs reveal how Tate teaches (and coerces) his so-called students in his PhD (“Pimpin’ Hoes Degree”) course “loverboy” techniques to lure and groom women into the webcam business, eventually leading to lucrative sex work. All the profits made by the women were then taken away. Tate and his students’ victims were forced into creating explicit content for adult websites such as OnlyFans.
Shea’s relentless attempts at discovering the truth led him to a crucial key in his investigation: a person named Iggy Semmelweiss, the “general” of Tate’s War Room. Semmelweiss, a spiritual leader and“greatest hypnotist in the world,” is suspected to be Tate’s partner-in-crime and might even have been the real mastermind of Tate’s War Room all along.
Currently, Tate’s former house arrest has been replaced with judicial control until October 2, allowing Tate to leave his house but not Ilfov County, Bucharest.***
