SAPPORO, 18 August 2023: Runa Tamura and her parents faced charges of the alleged murder of a headless man found in a Sapporo "love hotel" last month.

The victim, a 62-year-old man, Hitoshi Ura, whose body was naked and beheaded, was discovered in a hotel in Susukino, a red-light district on Sapporo, on 2 July.

Upon investigation, the missing head of Hitoshi Ura was discovered in the bathroom of Tamura's home. It was suspected that the victim's head may have been decapitated after he was killed.

An autopsy revealed that Ura suffered from hemorrhagic shock due to blood loss, eventually leading to his death. Further investigation led authorities to believe that Hitoshi Ura was stabbed around his neck from behind multiple times, with a laceration nearly puncturing one of his lungs.

While Runa's parents are suspected of being accomplices, authorities are convinced that Runa is the only one at the crime scene.

On 1 July, around 10:50 p.m., Ura and an individual whose description matched Runa Tamura's, checked into the hotel. Surveillance footage the following day showed the individual leaving the hotel alone while carrying a suitcase. The investigators claimed that Runa and Ura met at a nightclub closing event in Susukino in late May.

Osamu is believed to have dropped Runa off before picking her up later. Both allegedly had bought the knives and saws used in the crime together. It is also believed that the suspect's mother might also be involved.***
