PAHANG, 3 October 2023: Footage that went viral on TikTok showing a family with a young woman walking with heavy bags under the scorching sun to the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) entrance has generated a heartfelt public reaction.
Based on the one-minute video clip, the family has gone the extra mile by walking along the roadside to the university’s entrance as they travelled from Sarawak and had to take a bus as an alternative mode of transportation, leaving them with no carrier to carry their daughter’s luggage as they arrived at the university’s front gate.
The family of four was observed carrying all the necessary items for their daughter, which is typically the situation when a student is preparing to enrol in a university hostel at the beginning of the semester.
The sympathy was evoked when many people commented on how tremendous the efforts parents made only to see their children succeed, particularly when their children were about to further their studies.
It is believed from the video that the family was approached by the university’s guards and representatives, who then helped them get a vehicle to shuttle all the heavy luggage to their daughter’s hostel.
The video has garnered a heartfelt response from the public, with the comment sections filled with emotional reflections on the family’s struggle to endure the sweat only to send their daughter off to university.***
