Say Goodbye to the Old Twitter.

UNITED STATES, 6 July 2023: After a massive layoff of Twitter employees, billionaire Elon Musk made another move that sparked the anger of Twitter users. On July 1st, he announced that Twitter would be initiating a rate limit for their users.

“How on earth did I already use up all my rate limits,” a user tweeted. "Now I can't even see my own tweets what is happening.”

In response to a tweet complaining about being restricted from accessing his content, a social media expert, Matt Navarra, tweeted, “It is time I just quit Twitter at this point.”

The limit was imposed “to address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation.” Musk described it as a means to safeguard one’s personal data in social media against unauthorized data harvesting from artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT.

Verified users can see 6000 tweets daily, while unverified users will see 600 daily. To add, new unverified accounts will be able to view only 300 posts per day. When users reach their limit, they will get a message that says, “Rate limit exceeded.”

In addition to restricting reading Twitter posts, Twitter also prevented non-logged-in users from accessing the platform.

Musk announced that the daily limit for verified users will eventually be increased to 10,000 posts per day, while unverified users will have a limit of 1000 posts per day. Additionally, new unverified accounts can see up to 500 posts per day.

While the limit is said to be temporary, Musk did not give a specific timeline for how long it will last.***
