GOMBAK, 30th October 2024: After almost ten years, the Student Facilitating Front (STUFF) has brought back its major event, STUFFEST, which was last held in 2015. This year’s festival took place from 21st October to 27th October, and the theme of this festival was centred around Malay tradition.
“We chose the traditional Malay theme because we recognise that people in traditional Malay villages are known for their spirit of cooperation and strong bonding, which aligns with what STUFF IIUM represents,” said the Programme Manager of STUFFEST, Azril Hanief.
Throughout the week, students participated in programmes under STUFFEST to build stronger connections within the club and develop students’ abilities in project management, teamwork, entrepreneurial skills, and facilitation techniques.

The main biannual programmes of the STUFF club, widely known as the 3 Serangkai, include STUFF Booth Recruitment, STUFF Ukhuwah Induction Day (SUIT), and Mass Gathering, all of which were featured in STUFFEST. These programmes aimed to attract new students to the club and connect them with existing members, helping to strengthen their bonds. Through interactive modules led by the Chief Facilitators, participants engaged in activities designed to build connections and foster teamwork, making STUFFEST a welcoming introduction for newcomers.

Other featured programmes under STUFFEST were the STUFF Bazaar, held at HS Square, and the Sarong Run, a running event inspired by the festival's traditional Malay theme.
The STUFF Bazaar offered the IIUM community an opportunity to explore various stalls and engage with local vendors. Among the featured vendors were Kopi Saigon, Nasi Daging Kedah Kahaq, Dhuha Rich, Ain Niey Dessert, and many more, each offering a range of food and products that showcased local flavour.
The final programme of STUFFEST, the Sarong Run, embraced the Malay traditional theme by encouraging participants to wear sarongs during the running event. This event allowed the IIUM community and public to enjoy a blend of cultural tradition and physical activity.

In his last remarks, Azril thanked everyone involved, saying, “I would just like to thank everyone involved, from the committee members to the participants, for their commitment and enthusiasm.” He added, “I hope STUFFEST will become an annual event for upcoming tenure in STUFF IIUM.” —TBC
