SELANGOR, 15th May 2024: The case of the acid attack on Faisal Halim, the star player and winger for Malaysia’s soccer team, Harimau Malaya, is yet to be resolved and remains a mystery, even though an entire week has passed since the tragedy.

As reported by Astro Arena on 11th May, Halim’s condition has improved significantly, and he is now able to walk by himself without support, which is a major leap from his critical condition on 7th May – he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and his left hand had lost its function.

Two suspects were caught on 8th May at Bandar Baru Bangi following the acid attack that had happened to Halim at Tropicana Gardens Mall on 5th May. Halim suffers from 4th-degree burns, and others speculate that this may lead to an early retirement for him.

Halim’s father had given his statement about the attack that affected Halim on 9th May:

Buat orang yang buat dekat dia tu (Faisal Halim), semoga Allah bagi hidayah, sekiranya dia orang Islam. Timbulkan kesederaan bahawa dia telah melakukan kesalahan besar.” (“To the perpetrator, may God guide you, should you be a Muslim. May they realise that they have committed a grave offence.”)

Other players, such as Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester, have wished him a speedy recovery, along with endless support from Malaysian netizens across multiple social media platforms.

May Halim recover and can return to the field once more as Harimau Malaya’s star player.***
