GOMBAK, 6th May 2024: After nearly three weeks of opening submissions from all International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) students, the results of the highly anticipated Poetry Competition “Voices of the Verses” conducted by IIUM Poetry Club were finally revealed on 29th April 2024.
In a joyous celebration of Eid, the thrilling announcement made via IIUM Poetry Club Instagram post has brought to light the remarkable talents who have perfectly captured the theme of Ramadhan, Eid and Unity set by the organiser in their poem. The Poetry Competition thus celebrates six winners who claim victory in two poetry categories — English and Malay.
In the English category, the triumphant poets who had captivated the judges with their verses were Muhammad Arief Nazhan bin Nordin (2210867), Muhammad Adam Afhaaq bin Nor Kazmi Hamka (2318431), and Aliff Ikhwan Shahimi bin Mohammad Amin (2319795).
Meanwhile, in the Malay category, Muna Sidqy binti Mohd Sidqy (2011640), Halimatul Saadiah binti Pairit (2214402), and Khairunnisa binti Mohd Salim (2314866) had secured the top three spots with their heartfelt words.

A massive round of applause and congratulations to the poets for their wonderful pieces whose creativities have touched the readers’ souls. It is hoped that their artistic contribution will inspire and encourage more students to showcase their talents by participating in other exciting contests, especially ones revolving around poetry.
